Me too, but sometimes I run into things, like people, doors, walls, lockers, etc.
You don't have to acknowledge the heaven/hell/world around you, just the next space where your foot will fall.
Oh, and keeping an ear out for friends is never a bad thing either ;-)
I always play the game where I close my eyes and walk in a straight line in public for as long as I can, trusting the people around me to not run me down.
