I really don't like you, tinted. It's not because you're gay. It doesn't matter that you're gay, you make too big a deal out of it. You like penises, and you have one. That's great, and whether or not society thinks otherwise is of no consequence, 'cause you're still gay. So what the fuck, who cares? I don't like you because you act and write as if your morals, ethics, and satisfactions come before any consideration of how it will affect the people around you. Perhaps this goes for more people than just you, tinted (except for maybe the homosexuality in most cases, since it isn't the "norm"), but damn. Step off your goddamn high horse. Everyone who flames someone for "emo" poetry is being shitty, but so are the people who tell them they're being shitty. At least on this site. I'm being shitty for telling tinted I don't like him and others similar, but that doesn't give me any less right to write this, just like tinted is allowed to make his nose as shitty as he likes by acting as a scoundrel and... a brown-noser. And that's what makes this site great, but irritating. Thanks, I'm gonna go take a bubble bath.

I'm not really sure what to say to this?

I think I'll go with "Okay"?

Oh! I changed my mind. I have some things to say, I guess, but I'm seriously not offended and I don't want you to think I am.

I make a big deal about being gay because I am uncomfortable with it. I was raised being told it was a cardinal sin, and I'm still told that regularly at church, and I'm very unsure about myself. This confusion translates into a lot of posts about it. I don't apologize for posting that stuff, but I guess I apologize if it bothers you? That's not true either, I'm not gonna stop or anything.

Also, I was confused about your crappy emo poetry comment. I support both the right of people to post crappy emo poetry, and the right of people to say crappy emo poetry is shitty. I have never done otherwise, to my knowledge.

I won't "step off of my high horse." I'm not sure what that means.

I too appreciate this site, both that you can post this, and I can respond, without you having to sacrifice your anonymity. I pretty much don't change for anyone though. Get used to it? I'm sorry? I do what I want?

Again, I'm not sure what to say.

sometimes, OP, I agree with you. a lot

Um. You may need something stronger than a bubble bath.

Bitching about Tinted is pretty lame, though. You're making it seem as if he's flaunting his homosexuality, whereas it's entirely the opposite--Tinted is one of the least "OMG I AM GAY LET ME TELL THE WORLD FOR EFFECT" people I've met. He simply, like the rest of us teens here, is coming to terms with a difficult part of his life--and is doing so in one of the most eloquent ways I've seen.

So why pick on him for making "too big a deal out of it"? This site deals with--hence the name--angst, which generally is recurring. I don't see you going off on a rant about the number of people complaining about how much homework they have, eh?

So, eh. I won't go all ranty because I have better thing sto do with my time and Tinted's already refuted for himself. So I guess I'll end by saying: Self-respect does not a "high horse" make.

By the way bubble baths are not for pussies. They are soothing for stressed out people to relax. I am not saying that op is not a pussy becaust op is.

Hm... I dunno. I don't really think this post has a point. Sorry. It falls rapidly into incoherence.

Isn't the point of morals and ethics (I don't think you used the correct term when you said "satisfactions" so I'll just disregard it.)
to come before everything else? We let our ethics be a screen to the world, so we mostly let those ideas in for consideration that agree with our pre-set ideals.

And the rest... can we all just accept that it's okay to speak freely on this site, but you also have to accept the consequence of backlash?

Haha I'm sorry ou didn't understand my post.

I was making a completely ridiculous statement to sound fakely like I was starting a fight on fragi's accord.

I have nothing against people who take bubble baths. I do, however, have a problem with bubble baths. They're all bubbbly and great for like a while but then all the bubbles pop and you're looking at a normal bath and it's just just as fun anymore.

I do not, in fact hate Tinted. Honestly, most of it was irritation being vented into this nexus for "angst". Hannah, I'm rather surprised at you, while you may not agree with what I posted (hell, I disagree with much of it. At least the malicious points), it is disappointing that you feel I shouldn't post what I want when everybody else should. It does not negate the pettiness of much of the post, nor does it justify being told not to post it. I am aware that Tinted is not a "Look at me, world. I'm a fag." and I have no problem with homosexuality (for you commentors finding it important to name me "close-minded", truth is, those so quick to give titles to things are close-minded by definition. Everything must be organized, in black and white.) I feel terrible for tinted, as he is in a very hard place. It's hard to cope with, something I can't imagine beginning to deal with. This is a much longer response than I anticipated... but I hold no true animosity towards you, tinted. The original post really turned more into what irritates me about this site, but at the same time it is what makes it good. I apologize for how entirely inflammatory the initial post was, and yet... I don't apologize, because avoiding conflict doesn't get anybody anywhere. Neither does creating conflict... but, this was relatively amusing nevertheless. Oh, and my bubble bath was fabulous.

I too feel no ill-will toward you, original poster. Let's be best friends. Actually, let's don't. But, curiosity, do you know me in real life?

We've had this discussion.

Let's not revive it, k?

Yes, I do know you in real life, tinted. And I know YOU dr. A... and I don't appreciate you telling me what not to do in my own post. I reserve the right to read shitty comments, and serve them.

Anonymous said...

*Edit* In my haste to respond, I forgot to mention that I was the original poster, responding... but I guess you guys are smart enough to realize who the "anonymous" was that time.

Dr.A said...

To reiterate, if I must:

"Can we all just accept that it's okay to speak freely on this site, but you also have to accept the consequence of backlash?"

Ergo, I have previously acknowledged your right to "read shitty comments, and serve them." As such, you hardly need to reserve that right.

OP--I was not calling for censorship of any kind. Post whatever you want here, but also accept that by writing inflammatory remarks, you're going to get angry replies.

So, do you know *me* in Real Life?

Anonymous said...

Yes yes, I know all of the administrators in real real life. As in William G. Enloe high school life. And I like you all in real life... but sometimes I feel that tangst changes something. Or maybe I get to read how you think and judge things on tangst, as opposed to the internalizing of real life..

Hm, you have me curious now, op.

I, for one, am not really keeping up with this discussion in particular, but that comment sparked my interest ;-)

(Let's all be friends for a second, since apparently we all are in real life.)

Do you know knight-racer, because we are all slavering to know who that actually is.

And I would wager some large sum that you do not know who Maverick is.

Oh-ho, but I do know who Maverick is. Though you did enlighten me to the fact that I don't know who Knight Racer is. Aside from that, I've got it down foo'
