So I've been thinking lately that when a Webster's dictionary or an encyclopedia upgrades, everyone switches additions if there's something new. Perhaps you don't buy the knew one in interest of money, but we still use the same rules.

Then I was thinking, isn't Islam like Monotheism v3.0?

Christians are lagging behind a bit, and you jews, man you guys are like dial-up.

Well now, in terms of creation times, Islam is v2.0.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth. And the Jews.

After a while, there was a guy named Abraham. He had sex with this chick, who then left him and had a kid. That kid was the founder of Islam. (fill in the blanks yourself)

After a longer while, there was this gal named Mary. She *never* had sex. Ever. Especially not with her husband. Anyway, this *virgin* had a kid. God told her to call him Jesus. So she did.

Jesus got himself a nice cult following, with some officers called disciples. They were beat up a lot by the Romans. But so were the Jews. Heck, the two were practically the same for a while.

Then people got elitist and the cults split.

Flashback to present day. We've got Islam, the religon of the terrorist, Judaism, the religon of the bankers, and Christianity, the popular cult movement in 1st world countries like America.

To follow up, I don't have a clue where you (original poster) were going with the post, but then, I'm not sure where I went with this. I hope I offended everybody equally with this little satire. If not, post and I'll make it up to you.

uhh, I'm sorry sir, but wasn't Islam officially created around 600 AD thereby WAY AFTER JESUS, and thereby version 3.0?

The whole people making up their new christian religions (as well as the whole shiite suni thing, but that to a way lesser extent), don't really count. They're sort of like competiting versions of versions 3.0 and 2.0.

whoa anonymous number 1. How about you learn some religion/history before you start making fun of it.

Hagar didn't leave Abraham, he kicked her out because Sarah was getting jealous, and God has that whole "listen to your wife" thing going on.

Well /I/ thought the original post was hilarious.

I think some of you missed the point. My post was intended to make fun of all the inconsistencies, misinformation, politically correctness, media propogated hype, and ignorance of all three religons.

It was not meant to reflect on my knowledge of the individual religons, which I promise is opposite of what that post displays.

I'm glad some people got it.

Aaaand, I love the Energizer bunny jab. Kudos Anonymous #3.

Anonymous 1, it is sort of funny about the whole virgin mary and such. You can also poke fun at the whole inconsistency thing. But that post isn't really funny that abraham's concubine's son founded Islam...it's just wrong.

I think first anonymous is confused and now it's cute how he or she (probably he) is like "Oh my knowledge is exactly the opposite."

I bet he or she never had any idea what was going on.

We really need to read the bible in school.

It's probably the most influential piece of literature to the united states...EVER

Oh yes, and I agree with you fragi.

Bad coverup too...

Of course we should read the Bible in
English class! We also need to start having prayers on the Loe Down. How can I be expected to learn without constant reminders of Christ? We should even shut down Muslim club while we're at it, they've been looking at FCA funny for years.

Seriously though, you can't possibly expect high schools to read the bible in any depth unless you're planning on teaching all the other religious works too. And maybe it's just a hunch, but the works of L. Ron Hubbard seem like a waste of time.

well, there's the thing. which bible do you read? Jewish Bible or Christian Bible? Which translation? JPS? King James? Catholic? So many choices - someone's bound to be offended.

I think the new testament would probably be the most important one. However, the hold testament would also provide useful insight. As to WHICH bible to use, I really don't care, perhaps we'd look at the major differences between a major protestant and catholic bible. But I mean, let's just choose one and be done with it.

You do read the Bible in school, or at least, we did. Next time you have a Sophomore English textbook you should check out the Book of Ruth. The anonymous 5 above me is not funny. I don't really think the first anonymous is either. Religion isn't something to make fun of- at least in my opinion.

I am jewish and i think it would be interesting (maybe to read and discuss the new testament in class as long as people had a choice if they wanted to or not.

how about you check this out instead, "the urantia book," also sold as "god's bible" a lot more interesting and a lot more eye-openning
