so basically everyone is going to know who this is. i don't care.

i hate swimming simply because i have to be seen wearing a suit and nothing else. I feel so fat and so undesirable and just...gross when i'm around them. because they're all really skinny...and i just...i'm not. i feel like they think im disgusting. and when friends come to my meets i feel fat around them too. not to mention i feel ugly because of my wet hair and goggle marks. life's a bitch sometimes.

Yeah, I'm kind of mad at you.
You're hot, definitely not fat and ugly.
I'm actually quite envious, I won't even lie.

Hm... well you two seem to know each other. But I feel the exact same way as the poster. I stopped going to the pool because I was so angry at myself for being out of shape. Obviously I don't want to bash your angst, poster, but if you're a swimmer.... How out of shape can you possibly be.
Life could be worse.
Better too, but definitely worse.

If it's what you like to do, your friends won't care. They'll probably even respect you for it. Just work on your image of yourself.

They should make a magazine filled with amazingly unattractive people so that we can read it and get a daily reality check that being average is perfectly alright. I'll call it "Perspective" and make millions.

For fucksake, stop complaining and learn to love yourself.

I'd buy that magazine every day of the week. Goodness knows it's a whole lot healthier than looking at any other person who's in a magazine these days.

Alright I want to kill this optimism love yourself bullshit right here.

Yes, it may be true that you have confidence which is worth a lot, but you'd still be ugly now wouldn't you?

So let's think about this logically: Despite whether or not you are currently "fat and ugly," If you keep swimming you will probably get skinnier and more muscular (a plus), and if you stop swimming the exact opposite will happen.

I think these are both positive feedback loops, as they tell us in APES.

But yeah, you're probably not very ugly at all. Keep swimming and you definitely won't be.

Oh yeah, don't worry about wet hair and goggle marks, they don't detract from anything.

You're a swimmer, that's what you're supposed to look like.

Yeah... you think you're fat, but you actually just have nice boobs. And curves.. good shape. You are a well developed young lady, end of story.

haha okay so now i really want to know who that last person was.

(im assuming you know who i am since i took no pains to hide it.)

how does swimming with them work anyway?

everything just clicked into place and I figured out who poster and anonymous 1 are.
and I totally agree with anonymous 1.
and i guess anonymous number 9.

you need to stop worrying, apparently all of tangst disagrees with you on the point of you looking bad in a suit.

hurray for being the only swimmer who posts here. boo for hating myself a lot.

Anonymous said...

haha and no worries, the suit does a good job of keeping them out of the way. it's pretty tight.

that's something that most of the boys that attend swim meets thank god for.
