Right. The lightning was awesome. It was so beautiful, watching it race across the sky when I was riding home.

That's heat lightning. It actually doesn't strike the ground, it just arks from cloud to cloud and doesn't have enough power to push sound very far, so it doesn't even cause thunder.
I love thunderstorms.

I've been scared of thunder and lightning since I was a little girl.
Along with: Tornadoes,Hurricanes, Strong Wind, Floods, Sleet, Too Much Snow, Heat Waves, and Earthquakes.
Natural phenomena has never been very appealing to me.
pure grandeur. i rejoice in natural disasters and phenomena.
actually heat lightning is no different than normal lightning its just far enough away that you see the flash but dont hear the thunder. It can tstike the ground and is just as powerful as normal lightning
It wouldn't have been scary if I hadn't been alone. It wasn't all that frightening, but I probably could have slept through the night more easily had someone else been there.

"sheet lightning" is from cloud to cloud
All lightning produces thunder. It's just a fact. Sometimes, it's far enough away that you see the flash but the sound waves are blocked before they reach you. This is the so-called "heat lightning."
