I'm sick of how much more coverage Stanley Cup has been getting over the World Cup. Also I dislike how hockey is all about whther your team wins or loses, whereas with soccer, it seems like all the fans are just happy to be there watching some great soccer, no matter who theyre pulling for. Just my impression.
It only seems that way to you because it is usually the case that the U.S. isn't there, so you aren't swept up by the competitive spirit of your homeland winning.
I would have been okay if both teams had played good hockey. The problem was that it wasn't good hockey. The Canes weren't skating, they took stupid penalties (too many men on the ice), and weren't willing to make hits. I know they're small, but that's no excuse - draw penalties from the other team, skate faster so you're harder to hit, anything. Don't just tighten up your formation and avoid the other team.
Now that I've cooled off a bit, yeah, Edmonton did really well the past two games. Pisani and Hemsky finally got the touch back so they're scoring goals. The team as a whole is better than they were before, more disciplined, more focused, and they all know the game plan.
Carolina needs to figure out a way to manage Pronger the way Edmonton figured out how to manage Brind'Amour and Staal.
And to address the mania thing: this is what happens when hockey fans (notorious for being rowdy - there are legal fights in this sport) are deprived of the professional league games for a year. Damn that lock out.
haha i didnt realize i must have hit the 5 instead of the 4 but yea the reason the stanley cup has gotten more coverage is because its here not in europe its in raleigh also we are alot closer to winning the stanley cup than the world cup also world cup soccer is pretty boring to watch.

Um, it was 4-0, k?
Not that it matters because that game sucked regardless.
The only good thing, Canes-wise, was the return of Erik Cole.
I'm secretly very happy.
I am sick of "Canes Mania" in the triangle.
^This is just going to make it worse.
While I too am tired of everyone being like OMG CANES and seeing shirts on every streetcorner
they are representing NC, and as I say frequently, North Carolina is my home, and thus we are the best and thus we should win. all the time. duh.

Thank god, we've already got enough hyperactive sports maniacs around.

Has anyone else noticed that throughout this entire series, the team to win the opening faceoff has won the game?
Tell me that's not freaky.
