I realized today when I was painting and listening to a Tracy Chapman tape that I've had it since second grade...and I still like it.
What's the oldest cd/tape you own that you still listen to regularly?

Note: NOT a scheming plot to get on popular post list..I'm genuinely curious.

The various Carpenters CDs I have lying around my room.

Close ties are Madonna's "True Blue" CD and a mixtape I got in kindergarten as a goodbye present from my best friend.

i listen to a cd thats a tranfered recording of a tape recorded in 1947, but the tape might have also been a transfer, because im not sure if tapes existed in 47

Hmm....probably Weezer's Blue Album. I got it in about 6th grade, and still listen to it actually very regularly.

wait, I'm confused. is she asking for the music we've listened to the longest, or the music that's been around the longest?

because if it's the former than my answer is Joni Mitchell's Blue album. if it's the latter than it's classical music, ftw!

I have a Billie Holiday record with "I'll Be Seeing You" on it. I listen to it quite a bit.

Well, though I'm not entirely sure, the oldest group I listen to is the Beatles, and the oldest CD is Backstreet Boys Millenium.

Oh, sorry...that would be Millennium, not Millenium.

rashi, that's because weezer is awesome. (though i have to say i prefer their older stuff over the latest album.)

To clarify - The tape/cd that you've owned for the longest, and still listen to regularly! 90's music isn't old, but I've had it for a while.

I found this cassette in my room last week of muppets singing different songs and stories that I hadn't seem for more than a decade, but when I put it on I remembered every bit of it like I had listened to it just yesterday.

Music is cool like that.

My first CD was the soundtrack to Eleanor: An American Love Story, which remains my favorite musical soundtrack. This is perhaps the reason that despite much evidence to the contrary, I still believe that Eleanor Roosevelt was straight.
