I'm not setting off fireworks. I'm not attending any parties. I'm not going to any barbeques. I'm not celebrating July 4th in any way.
And this wasn't by choice.
It's only times like these where my lack of life depresses me.

As our grand american company would say, you have to grab life by the horns.
You know, carp diem?
Things do sometimes fall into your hands, but if you grab for them they come more easily.
Just to be a stickler, the saying is carpe diem and carp is a fish. Not a very tasty one, at that. From what I hear, it's very boney.
Anyhow... I celebrated the Fourth of July by listening to people setting off very loud firecrackers. And you know something else? The kid setting them off is deaf. Holy fuck.
