I really hate the awkwardness of telling people I do not like them the way they like me. So seriously find out if your crush likes you before being bold and putting yourself and he/she in uncomfortable positions.

yes but then you get those tangst post that say, "Why cant he just take a hint that i like him" Or ask why "they wont make a move even though we both like each other".
And how do you do that? Ask their friends? Then that just puts them in the awkward situation you so ably described. Look. Kudos to the person that was brave enough to go up to you. Sorry things didn't work out, but he did what we on Tangst tell people to do all the time.
