Are you crazy? Just because it has weird chords and doesn't sound like the classical or whatever that you're used to doesn't make it bad. Everything gets better with repitition too. I don't know if you're in wind ensemble with me, but I didn't even like elegy until I'd heard it like 5 times. Also, everything will sound much better when it's not on computer and the vocal parts have words. I'm excited to be playing music that's so innovative and different.

Oh, I like it. (This was expected? haha) I mean, it sounded like crap on Finale, but I think when we play it, it'll be a lot better.

And Elegy was <3. Lots of <3. Agreed, sekaf.

i didn't like it either, and not because of the weird chords. i'm actually quite partial to weird chords and i have no problem with things not sounding like classical. it was just boring. there was hardly any contrast between movements and the progression (if there was any) didn't make sense. you could play the movements in any order and no one (except probably CPM himself) would know the difference. he's cool, but that doesn't mean he's a kickass composer. not even close, from what i heard today.

ps i'm in ESO

I'm hoping to god that the non-MIDI will sound better. And, as he put it, "things will change"

I totally started the whole calling him "Crazy Piano Man".

Joel martin. You could probably google him. Or google "jazzical" and that will work too.

The MIDI version sucked (synthetizer tech still sucks, even these days), but man the music is so neat to play.

The string parts seems simple, but they're beautiful when they're played. I'm pleased by what he's created, and most impressed by what he could envision in such a rough composition of computerized notes.

btw, the band parts do not sound good when played (maybe we're just out of practice).
