That's a hell of a position to put him in. Don't do it. For his sake.
I'd say not. I think the simple distiction between "current" and "ex" should be a pretty effective answer, and those kind of questions create awkwardness and tension that can only do a relationship harm.

Don't. Hearing him compare you to his ex will be a lot weirder and more unsettling than you imagine it will be.
