i really liked him. and now he likes me too. but we went on ONE date and all of the sudden he's had "the best night of his life." kind of scary. and that's made me not like him anymore. why did he have to ruin it with that?

People who blow things out of proportion / are overly dramatic are a MAJOR turn-off. I am with you big time, OP.
That kind of puts a lot of pressure on the second date. Like, what if it's only the second best night of his life?
