That is so incredibly disrespectful.

mourning? do you mean morning?

Yeah I agree with Rashi. I mean yes, I think its bullshit that we've made a huge tragedy into "patriot day" but I didn't think it was funny. Not by a long shot.

respectfulness is somber.

corrupt governmental policies are sickeningly humorous.

each to their own.

you're sick.

Original Poster,

Are you blind to your own loathsome print? Is it because the complete disregard for respect and human decency is searing? There is no "to each his own" policy for this one. Tonight I'll try to apologize to every flag and free man that has to bear the burden of sharing a planet with abhorrent asswipes like yourself.

I must say I'm surprised by the responses. I don't think I'd have gotten them if hadn't posted anonymously. No one would ever say these things to my face.

I'm glad Tangst always validates my opinions. However unapparent they are.

OP- Yeah, I'd have to say that the response is pretty abhorrent. And considering I was there laughing with you..well..I guess that says a lot about me.

Laughing about a government's idiotic response to a tragedy is perfectly valid, and doesn't show disrespect to the people killed. Frankly when we've lost our sense of humor about life..that's when we really should be scared.

I would be more inclined to be terrified by a nation that turns tragedy into a monotheistic reclamation of blind faith for the government.

Nothing funny here. It may be absurd and a bit surreal... but it's only funny to those with the naivete to take it at face value.

Give her some credit. Dr. Cochran is amazing at what she does, and that is being a bureaucrat. She takes and holds power and does expected things (like the moment of silence) to look good to superiors.

Thank, you Pchis.

I don't understand what everyone's problem with Cochran is. I really don't.

My only problem with Cochran is how she feels like it's completely unneccesary for her to ever interact with any students or get to know us at all in order to do her job. And maybe it's not neccesary - but it would still be nice. Also, since she's been here stupid rules like off campus passes, tardies and dress codes have become much more enforced. Mr. Gardner focused more on real problems, like drugs and gangs. Maybe she does that too, but I sure don't see it. At any rate, I miss having a principle I could wave to in the halls.
