For the past thirty minutes, I've been fighting the urge to call him and ask him over for dinner with my family. I think he'd be a bit weirded out by it, but I really just want him around.

To the OP: Yeah, I think that might be a little weird. I mean, I doubt if he would necessarily say no, unless he were genuinely busy (I know I wouldn't), but maybe if you could find a better excuse, like to celebrate a holiday or something...

I wouldn't invite him unless he's good friends with your family, you've been dating him for a while, or it's a special occasion. If you've got two or three of those it's probably no problem at all.
