i secretley love playing violent video games, especially trying to come up with creative ways to blow myself up.
and yet i wonder why i've never been kissed.... *shakes head*

That's kind of like my secret obsession with gore movies. The more creatively your insides turn into outsides the more I like the movie. It's turned not-so-secret lately, but it hasn't really hindered my (already pretty pathetic) love life.
Keep wondering my friend, because I don't think violent video games are the problem.
Hey, I dunno about the girls/guys for whom you hold affections, but violent gory video game suicide turns me on. The Halo respawn sound totally gets me horny.
