I have a friend, a really cool friend, who has times when she gets sad easily and refuses to let anyone cheer her up. Most of the time she is lots of fun to be around but when she's like that being around her is just... exhausting. And I hate it, almost as much as I care about her.

Sometimes I'm that friend. I'm really sorry you have to put up with people like me, we try not to incorporate others into our emotional discrepancy, but sometimes we can't really help it. Sometimes we sincerely don't want to be comforted, yet we want to be in the presence of others that we care about. I'm sorry you have to put up with us emotional crazies.

I AM THE ORIGINAL POSTER.

I mean, not really, but I have friends like that.

A message to all women out there: period or no period, try to keep the random emotional inconsistency to a minimum.

Hm... I used to do this, but I decided to stop being like that to my friends, who didn't really deserve it. I don't have anything to suggest, I just kind of stopped doing it on my own. Maybe your friend will stop too.
