We've been going out for a week and four days. Already I'm disengaging myself from the relationship because I'm afraid that soon I'll lose interest and break his heart.

No offense, but why would you start dating someone if you wanted to end it immediately?

um... if my brain weren't dying from sleep deprivation and "as i lay dying," i might say something like this:

don't date someone if you plan to lose interest beginning after eleven days. don't plan to lose interest in general: it happens, but maybe it would be nice to fully experience the interest and relationship before you disregard it.

i'm sorry though, i'm delirious.

I think the fact that you are worried about losing interest is a major indicator.

This worry is a self-fulfilling prophecy (yay for psychology again!) and if you focused more on the relationship and less on the possible outcome I believe the relationship would last longer and be more satisfying.

Don't worry A3, I understand completely. You aren't alone. As soon as the chase is over and things get serious the situation gets sicknasty awkward.

But then again- I went into my last relationship knowing that I wanted out, so I wouldn't listen to me.

It's understandable for the op to feel this way- go for it op!, and if you do lose interest, then oh well-game over
