I used to feel like this, but I like a lot of the IB students now :)

A lot of my friends are IB and most of them don't think of themselves as better than the rest of the AP kids.

A lot of the IB students that I know (in my own grade, at least) are really about the same as my other friends. None of them are pretentious or stuck-up, unless they've been hiding it very, very well. Most of them aren't conservative, and the one that I can think of who is pretty conservative is a really nice, person.

I do agree with you. I of course only know the ones in my english class and they like to assume I'm stupid.

some IB kids are stuck up but I don't think its IB that turns them this way. Most are not but there are some that are. I think its more that IB attracts people of that type not It turns them into that.

IB?

International Baccalaureate.

Basically, the IB kids have to follow some sort of international curriculum-type thing that shows their education is the equivalent of that in some of the other countries. It involves taking a few specific classes and certain "higher level" and "standard level" tests, and a few other things, like projects and research papers and such. Very good if you're planning to go to college or get a job out of country, I guess.

And that was a very much simplified explanation, so I suggest you look it up or ask someone else if you want to know more.

There is nothing about IB that attracts stuck up bitches.
It's a program for people who want to be well informed and well rounded, in addition to academically challenged. I am sorry that some people's parents forced them into it, that is unfortunate, but I know there are very few of those in the senior class.
IB isn't just very good if you want to go to college or work out of country...its good if you want to go to college or work period. I've already written a 4000 word reserach paper, when I have to do that again in college it won't be so bad. I've had to do a lot more group work than your average AP student. I took a class during lunch, that contrary to popular belief, was not a waste of time, and helps me whenever I'm writing a paper or making an argument for another class. I feel well prepared for college where ever I go.
Also, I have no problem with the (two) conservative IB seniors. They are certainly not jackasses or know-it-alls. It's nice for our discussions to not be completely one sided.
Basically, don't generalize! It's ridiculous!

Sorry about my comment about IB being good for college or out-of country stuff, or at least sorry if I annoyed you by it.

I was just making a hasty generalization (which isn't good, I know), but it is good for out-of-country stuff and college. I know that there's other stuff that IB's good for. I was actually going to try it until I realized that it didn't fit very well with most of the classes that I'd want to take.
