What about your most romantic memory? Care to share?

The first time I kissed my girlfriend is my most romantic memory. We were swimming in her swimming pool when it started to rain. We got out of the pool and sat on the glider and cuddled for a bit under a towel. At last, we began kissing and it was blissful.

No romantic memories here.

I was at north carolina school of the arts over the past summer... I had confessed my crush to a girl, and, in turn, she did as well. She wanted me to play piano for her... so we went to a practice room, and I played. And played and played for quite some time. After that, I got up and sat next to her in the chairs against the wall, near the piano. I kept looking at her, and looking away... soberly reflecting on the poster across from us that was written in Italian. We both laughed a bit nervously from time to time, always shifting our gaze.. then, of course, as all things tend to happen, we were looking at each other face to face. Anyhow, I don't think I need to go into what happened after that. "Playing piano" became our 'codename'. Though, I would still play piano for her.

The girls had a sleepover, the guys had a sleepover. They were across the street from one another. Disobeying all parental warnings, they made plans to come outside at 3:00 AM. Five guys and five girls, though two girls stayed inside. There were two couples outside. One stood awkwardly, not knowing what to do with themselves in the light of the romantic stars. The other wrapped themselves in a blanket, whispered quiet words while standing on the darkened asphalt, gently rested together in those puzzle-piece bodies of theirs.

He pulled the blanket up so nobody could see us, and whispered to me, "You look beautiful tonight. More than usual."

I smiled my secret smile, the one that I use only for him.

*sigh* Romance completely escapes me. I shall use this as another chance to point out that The 40 Year Old Virgin is the most depressing movie I have ever seen, as I see myself in every single scene.

"The sun behind your head looks like a halo."
"Ah, I must be Jesus, then."
"No... you're an angel."

i'm looking to replace it, but at the moment my most romantic memory ever would have to be:

the day that a friend and i went to the farmer's market one saturday morning and walked around in the stalls and bought breakfast. then we drove to a park and sat together and ate it, then walked together until we found a place to sprawl out together and talk. and then we talked for a few hours about what had happened between us.

of course it's a bittersweet romantic memory because of the futility of that moment.

This was over a year ago, on the 16th birthday of an ex-boyfriend. We had been dating for about a month, but we were still in that sort of "awkward but cute" phase. I made him brownies and got him a cd, and went to his house. We spent the whole day together. I don't even remember what all we did. However, after a while we opted to go bounce around on the trampoline behind his house. After a while we got really tired and laid down. I remember looking at him for a long time and just being so happy to be there with him. We started kissing after a while, and just laid there under the warm sun with our arms around each other, so happy to be right in that moment. To me, that was the real begining of our fantastic 8 month relationship. We have been broken up for a while now and both date other people, but that will always be one of my favorite memories of him, and probably of high school.

having a picnic at pullen park. it was sooo cold, so we got between two blankets instead of sitting on one. we ate warm brownies in our little cave and when we looked out, suddenly it was snowing. it was so beautiful and we loved being there in each other's arms.
even though we aren't together anymore, and that's probably a good thing.

Actually, just...on a charter bus, sitting next to him, and falling asleep near each other just slightly touching. It wasn't even very romantic, but to me it was.

That scenario sounds very familiar. Yet, I am sure that it is a common one.

um well its not really my most romantic memory but It was a t a school dance and i met this girl i had never really seen before and we danced all night and this lead to that . Any way at the end of the night we both somehow left without learning the others name or information. SO this perfect woman faded into the mist and ive never seen her since.

hahaha sorry for that, rashi.

Ah, what a bus ride that was. Nothing like 3 people dozing off in 2 seats, waking up, and groggily talking about the finer points of time travel and the make up of the universe.

God, I loved that trip.
