X-Men 3 sucked. It sucked like a girl on prom night, it sucked like the implosion of a dwarf star, it sucked like a hoover on crystal meth. Shame on all involved.

really? thats disapointing, I was hoping it would be most excellent. o well still ill have to see it for myself.
It wasn't that bad. I actually thought it was kinda funny.
Don't go for the plot, go for the special effects.

shit, it was right up there with x-men 2.
The first was just an introduction to the whole XMEN thing, and the second was truly a comic book movie, but the third
spoiler alert
really brought in stuff about the ethics of magneto and xavier. Xavier seems like a great guy but in this you realize how he has in some senses compromised these for the "greater good" (ie blocking the phoenix off and transfering his consciousness.)
It had angel (albeit for a very small time) and it showed you a lot more of kat. You finally met juggernaught which is one of the key evil mutants in x-men. You could call the "I'm the juggernaught, bitch" and the DBZ fight between pyro and iceman "cheesy," but I thought they were pretty cool. The fight also revealed ice man truly turning into the iceman from the comics (ie he is covered in ice and not just a guy that makes other things cold).
It showed us phoenix which was an awesome point in the comics and pretty equally awesome in the movie.
It introduced the idea of human enginuity. Up until this point it has been mutants vs mutants with humans being able to do very little except stir up conflict. In this it truly brings the humans to the battlefield, and as you saw with the assault on alcatraz Magneto has no sense of battlefield tactics, just an overbearing hubris of the ability of mutants. this allowed for a lot of his force to be decimated by the troops with the "cure weapons."
My beef with it was wolverines whole "true love" solution to phoenix (as opposed to doing some weird trippy thing with leech or rogue) and of course the death of cyclops, jean, and rogue destroying her powers.
That last one will soon be solved because they're getting their powers back though.
I thought it got much more in depth into things while still keeping the ridiculously awesome special effects and fight scenes (that anti-aging technology in the "20 years ago" scene, I mean jesus christ.)
