Notice they wait to announce that they're drilling in the alaskan nature preservations until the day the Enron verdict comes out. I suppose if I worked for the Republicans I'd do the same, it just seems sort of underhanded.

That's what the current administration's middle name is.

*sigh* I can't wait until 08 when we put a real Republican in office. And I mean not a radical rightist.

I'm talking a moderate Republican who won't throw his administration away just because he has control of both houses and is on his way out anyway.

Quite frankly, even as one of the most conservative people at Enloe (which then again isn't saying much), I am quite simply sick of our President. I want to see leadership, and that isn't what he's offering. That, and he's turning the Republican party from the small government party to a Christian fundamentalist super-big government party. That's not what I (will) sign up for!

^ Register as an Independent and get all kinds of mail from everyone!

Plus the perks of actually choosing from a well-rounded selection instead of just from the oddballs who have the little (R) or (D) printed next to them on the ballot :)

Party primaries aside, I think it's better not to register with a certain party, regardless of your personal political inclinations.

He's not much of a repub... but he is a bit weak as far as leadership goes.

"i'm not sure i see the connection. anyone?"

The fact that a very important story that would once again hurt that administrations crediblity was announced on the same day that something more "important" was released so that it would automatically end up on page two. Out of sight out of mind, so the saying goes.

I actually think that a Guiliani/McCain ticket would be wonderful for this country.

And don't even give me crap about McCain caving in to the radical right. He's just doing it to get elected and you know it. He doesn't believe it.

And to say that Giuliani doesn't have leadership ability is ridiculous. And he certainly has more than President Bush and even more than probably 90% of the candidates the Democrats can produce.

If the american public can elect another republican after this fiasco I would be surprised and apalled at the same time.

I'm not saying that republicans are that wrong that they shouldn't get elected, I'm saying I think the american people hold grudges better than that.
