I only pretend to have an eating disorder for the attention

that is possibly the most terrible thing i can imagine. i know people who have eating disorders or used to, and it's not something to take lightly. the more people treat it as an attention-getting tool, the less help people who actually have the disorder will be able to get. it's like crying wolf for a lot of other people. people who could die because of it. think about it, and then STOP.

If someone came on tangst saying they murdered their sister they might find the smallest scrap of understanding and remorse, but I promise you that you will find absolutely none.

I seriously doubt you could only "pretend" to have an eating disorder. The problem with eating disorders is that you don't even realize you have them. And haven't you ever heard that old addage about becoming what you pretend to be?

Stop. There are better ways to get attention, such as *gasp* being an interesting person who people want to be around.

I detest the concept of what you are doing, mainly becuase I am a survivor (so far) of an eating disorder.

But I have compassion for you as person because, well, if you crave/want/need attention that badly, then there are obviously other factors that need to be considered. You have a problem, and I don't mean the falsified eating disorder. I'd suggest talking to someone about it - someone who you wouldn't mind if they found out about the lie.

And to echo Rashi, please, please, quit this, at least for your own health. Because the more you fake it to others, the more you fake it to yourself, too. And you might just convince yourself.

Good luck.
