I don't know if normal crushes last 4 years, or if it's okay that I get butterflies everytime I'm around him, or the fact that one measly sentence he says can effect the rest of my night

I was once in a crush for four years. Then I met someone who actually was the most amazing person I had ever met.
And you know what happened to that crush? I still see her. Daily, in fact. And we're still friends, but all that feeling is gone.
Crushes that last for four years often develop into obsessions. Don't let that happen to you. Either take the plunge and try to start something, or move on and find someone else.
