don't feel bad, colleges know that people apply but will actually never go, so they admit like 50% more people than the spots they have.
your not taking anyone's spot, colleges know kids like you won't go there and factored this all in
yeah, they jokingly called it "the most advanced calculus there is" when I was talking to an admissions officer about it.
also, if you really did "take someone's seat," there's something called a waiting list.
Hopefully I'll make some waitlisted kid at UNC very happy.
