OK, I admit it. I like him. *blushes*
But the last thing I want is another stupid teenage relationship where you show off the boyfriend like an accessory, which many of my friends do. He's too good for that crap (and I know better).

If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it. Just because a relationship can start as one of those "stupid teen relationships" where you show off your boyfriend or girlfriend doesn't mean that it won't evolve into something more.
I think it's just a factor of being a teen. We all pretend to be so mature. Sometimes, I think it's important that we realize that the way we get mature is by living life, making mistakes, and learning from them.
When I see my few friends who are like that (okay maybe I exaggerated a bit earlier, but I didn't mean to), it just reinforces more and more how I don't want to be like that. I would hate myself if I drew my guy into something so cheap and temporary. (Notice how I'm reluctant even to use the word "crush".) I really don't believe that there is only one way to have a relationship.
