Yeah, Im kind of impartial towards thanksgiving holiday. Ive never grown close to my cousins and Im not the kind of guy who's kill over turkey (give me a 14oz steak and 30 seconds, and then Ill show you eating)
But the idea behind Thanksgiving I think still make it a necessary holiday
Thanksgiving used to be amazing. My cousins would teach me how to play videogames and my family would gather around and tell jokes until the moms and aunts were finished cooking then everyone would crowd around the table (I was always at the kids table) and would talk about science and philosophy and I'd listen to them in wonder then would go outside and play with the cat.
That was a long time ago, one cousin is out of college and married now and the other is dead. No one wants to try and relive it and has found someone else to celebrate with.

Being vegetarian and all, it's a little gross to have a dead bird sitting around and stuff. But I do like going to the mountains, which is what my family does every year.
thanksgiving is awesome i have grown up without much money in my household thanksgiving is the onlyt ime that weever had a real solid meal, you just have enough that you dont know what you have.

the food is awesome. how the hell could you hate it?
The days off
the family
the food
the message.
No blatant advertising or consumerism (I mean there are a few decorations and of course the food, but that's not much).

You're a little off there, Pchis.
There is consumerism for Thanksgiving.
Only it's for Christmas.
Sometimes I hate this country.
