I'm a little worried about pregnancy just from genital contact, but it just so happens I'll be starting the pill this week. How will I know if I'm pregnant since I'll be on the pill?

The pill doesn't make it any harder to ascertain whether or not you're pregnant. You'll still get your period, though it might be lighter or shorter than usual. Same rule applies on the pill as off it: If period, then no pregnancy. If no period, then go get yourself a pregnancy test.
I don't mean to sound probing, but I think the more descriptive you are about what actually happened, the more we can help.
The pill should actually guarantee that you have a period the same time every four weeks, so that's how you'll know.
If it went in and that's it there is a VERRRYYYYYYY small chance. If he was ABOUT to cum there is a larger chance. If it didn't go in at all and he didn't cum there is almost no chance. If he didn't go in and you got semen on your clothes then small chance. If he didn't go in and you got semen near your vagina you need to start worrying.
Also, birth control pills don't fuck up your cycle until the end of the month when you begin taking them. It takes at least a week for the pills to be effective at preventing pregnancy. My advice depends on your cycle. If it is supposed to start soon then just don't start them yet (you're supposed to start the sunday after your period) if it isn't going to happen for a while, wait about a week and a half to two weeks and invest in pregnancy tests. Buy one starting that week and if it's negative do it the week after and the week after that. If they're all negative chances are you're not pregnant.
I've been in your situation before honey, you'll be fine.

This is all bearing in mind of course that you were fertile at the time. Remember that a woman is only able to conceive for approximately only 24 hours out of every month. After that, the egg dies, and you're fine for the rest of the month. Yes, it's true that semen can live in the cervix for up to 5 days, but even most doctors say that they would have to be exceptionally strong. In other words, 5 days is really the exception rather than the rule.
Fact is, it's much harder to get pregnant than your sex ed teacher would like you to think.
Don't trust the pill. If you are worried about getting pregnant, maybe you shouldn't be doing this.
If your backup plan isn't to marry this guy and raise your baby, maybe you shouldn't be doing this.
