I hate it when people say I've lost weight or I look a lot thinner. I have, I guess, since like tenth grade, but it's been years since then and I don't think it's really all that striking. I don't know why it makes me so uncomfortable-- maybe because I have no friggin' clue why I've lost the weight and kept it off, because my lifestyle is deplorably lazier than nearly all my other friends' lifestyles. I also just plain don't want to think of myself as "thin." I like being plump! Squishier is better!

I was really suprised by this post, and even more surprised by that comment^.

I have really only lost about 10-15 lbs. Most people haven't noticed. I like being told I look thinner becuase its a good confidence booster, but then again its scary because I'm always like "was I really that fat?"

I guess OP, if you don't like being thin, you should go eat some trans fat and simple carbs. A lot of them. Directly before bed. That should fix your problem. It's good that you seem to have a healthy self image and don't care about being really thin.

Also, I once tried to get PChis to be my diet buddy and he pretty much blew me off. Oh well. :)

I hate when people tell me how thin I am.

Seriously, I'd gain weight if I could.

who gives a shit if they say you're fat or skinny... You're beautiful the way you are no matter what your weight...

That's what your personality is for

unfortunately its much easier for people to like someone who is attractive and fit rather than fat as a friend or romance.

Trans fat doesn't make you fatter more quickly than other fats... it just kills you faster. Rather than being absorbed and truly metabolized, trans fat has a fabulous property of remaining solid in your body; thus, blocking your arteries more effectively.

You can be perfectly thin, and drop dead from too much trans fat.

Research indicates that trans fat may increase weight gain and abdominal fat, despite a similar caloric intake. A 6-year experiment revealed that monkeys fed a trans-fat diet gained 7.2% of their body weight, as compared to 1.8% for monkeys on a mono-unsaturated fat diet.

(I did get that from WIkipedia, but it was cited from real sources)

GP you aren't wrong, but trans fat is harder to burn because it has a much higher melting point(becuase its a geometric isomer, with kinks) than other fat. You've seen those really thin girls with pooch stomachs and wonder why they are thin everywhere else? trans fat.

Yeah I was reading in the New York Times a couple of months ago where it said that, in one study, a group was shown random pictures of people and asked if they thought if they would like the people in the pictures (based on first impressions)--

people were more likely to be approving of the mentally retarded and those with physical defects than they were of fat people.

hmm, I don't recall this diet buddy idea sekaf...

haha perhaps because I just have never gone on a diet and hopefully never will.

And yes, it's nice to be noticed as thinner, but yes, it sometimes annoys me when people make fun of my fat middle school self.

Wait, why is PChis now Peter?

Anonymous said...

becuase hes not an admin yet, so he just typed "peter" under other

^^What lies. I've always been an admin since I was promoted oh so long ago, and it was a username, not an "other."

But frankly I have no idea why it changed to peter...

At any rate, the problem is fixed!
