Women wear a colored sashes to indicate the different degrees of availability.
Green: "Come and get me"
Yellow:"I want a companion but there is a particular one in mind, not you."
Red:"Taken."
with sub-color options:
Purple: "open to a prom date but not a relationship."
BLACK: Period.

seems a little invasive to privacy if you ask me... but if you want to go with the whole color thing you should add a color for people whos relationship status is way complicated and one for gay people...

I am female and I think this a good idea. It would prevent boys from being excessively squirrelly.

I am female and didn't really mind the idea as much as I should have, until I thought about what sash I would wear. Because, in truth, I wouldn't want the boys to "come and get me", nor am I in a relationship, nor would I specifically want to admit to the whole world that I liked someone, as that would lead to questions that I wouldn't want to answer. But I'm open to a relationship, just not specifically looking for one from just anybody or from any specific individual.
And here I go, overanalyzing. Ah, well.
Oh, for heaven's sake, lighten up people! Its a joke by a guy who obviously has difficulties in finding an available girl to woo.

I don't wear a sash, and anyone worth my time is comfortable enough to simply ASK me if I'm involved with anyone.
oh man i wish that were true. make it so much easier for me. how about a spectrum of colors where they could combine colors to resemble situation. and queen sekaf its easy to say that but try it yourself after asking a couple guys with boyfriends you'll think again.
