It's perfectly natural. In fact, I am a little surprised that your first time was so late. Nothing wrong here. You won't go blind or anything.

I know but I just am not used to it and I try to be religious

Since when does the bible ban masturbation? I'd like to see a chapter and verse.

OP, I understand your plight. I too was once a victim of mental civil war. But I feel that you are basing your restriction on Old Testament doctrine, which is rather outdated with sacrifices and whatnot. Furthermore it is natural and prehaps even healthy (work the ol' prostate and such). In my opinion, so long as youre not obsessed and become addicted, then you should be sexually and morally stable at the same time.

Moreover, if God didnt want us to masterbate, he would have made our arms much shorter. Recall the T-Rex. Case and point.

actually rashi, it does technically disapprove. Check:

Gen 38:9

it's not actually about masturbation... but it is always used as the biblical basis for God being against it... Onan "spilled his seed", and God smote him for it. in actuality, he pulled out, but it's supposed to be the same idea.

I go by Jewish law as much as I can, I dont beleive it is outdated but I also believe well, phew complicated. I am just trying to reconcile my beleiefs

Masturbation is a form of relief. It is a natural primal need that we feel as humans. It is not possible to be forever hid in the shadows. Do not feel ashamed for acting normal. Is it not better than premarital sex? (which I dont have a problem with anyways...)

I shall now dictate to you the commentary that the real Rashi (Rabbi Solomon ben Izchaki) wrote in response to this verse:

"He would 'thresh' on the inside, and 'winnow' on the outside."

I shall now give my own neo-Rashi interpretation of the verse, and the lines proceeding and succeeding it:

The first commandment in the entire Bible is to be fruitful and multiply. By whacking off right before he had sex, he was obviously decreasing his sperm count, thus making it more difficult for Tamar (his late brother's wife) to conceive. In this way, even though technically none of this was written down yet, Onan was breaking a previous rule of God - to be fruitful and multiply.

Thus, the sin is not masturbation, but rather to be unwilling to procreate. Just my two cents.

"Onan "spilled his seed", and God smote him for it."

Well God was pretty smote-happy back in the Old Testament. I'm sure he's lightened up a bit by now.

Case number 7952 why Christianity screws people up.

The "old testament" (or Torah, or whatever you personally call it) applies to both Jews and Christians.

Umm...I'm using the Hebrew. Original language, buddy. And it seems that the Jewish Publication Society agrees with me. I did a little bit more research, and discovered that what was really going on was more of a primitive form of contraception. So, actually, the JPS agrees with what I said.

Sounds a little like my enviro book, except without the numbered lists.

My rough transcription of the Bible verse:

"And thou art unclean, and so art thou's wife and anything thou hast touched, and it will make us unclean, and we are all unclean, and we must go wash, but we'll still be unclean..." etc.

Basically, it says that you can't touch people, or chairs, or leather, or women, or beds. Oh darn. Guess I'll satisfy myself with being unclen.

Not masturbating might even reduce your ability to be fruitful and multiply.

orgamsing is really good for your brain. it can help you relax, sleep, concentrate, kill time, etc. there is nothing to be ashamed of, its totally natural.
