i'm going back to school on wednesday, and the very thought of being around all those people that i used to care about makes me want to go jump off a bridge.

I feel exactly the same way. Thankfully I'm a senior and I get to leave them all for good soon enough. This year, school life will no longer be concidered part of my real life. I've decided to lend only a portion of my identity to the people I spend time with there. This summer has opened my eyes to the person I've been holding back for for years. I'd like to keep that aspect of myself without the pressure to surpress it to please the people I am used to hiding it from.
They will change.
And so will you.
But in all honesty, would you want to be in a world cursed to consistancy?
They do, but it isn't necessarily a bad thing. It isn't always a good thing, either, but it doesn't have to be bad.
