The Tunnel is liberal propaganda masquerading as an alternative information source. With the stated focus being "knowledge" I was incredibly disappointed at the obvious slant. It's op-ed people, not news.
The information in The Tunnel is already on NPR, in the New York Times, on television network news...made available by people who actually asked real, important people about what's happening in South America, the US Government, and Africa.
I mean, I guess if you like your news hastily and uncreatively rehashed on a sheet of white computer paper without an original thought in there, then it's pretty cool
Also, the name bothers me. it hints at "underground." Oooh, it's one giant vomit-fest of liberal opinions... how rare and controversial at Enloe.
i'm trying to show appreciation for something our fellow students did, in fact, put a lot of effort into.
if you really do hate it, at least show some decency.
How exactly is "decency" shown? Don't you mean "respect"?

I try not to be overly bias against either side. I tend to be more liberal than conservative but i find alot of liberals are very very unrealistic about society
If you didn't like it, stop complaining and ask to write an article thats not "biased" or regurgiated npr.

Just because you put a lot of effort into something doesn't mean it's good or worth appreciation. Not that the tunnel is bad, I just thought I'd point out the poor reasoning above?

It certainly provides news in a completely different niche than the eagles eye. They really aren't comparable.
Even if it has been reported in the New York Times, not everyone reads the new york times or listens to NPR, so I would surmise that the tunnel could be a nice way for people to get an idea of what, at least in a small way, is going on in the world.
I only read two articles, but I didn't sense anything so strong as what I would call "liberal propaganda," but without reading the whole thing I'm not going to try and argue that point.
That said, I also find random comments such as:

to be one of the reasons the world is a mean place.
Then again, I've been accused of being a pretentious asshole, so maybe I'm biased.
i don't know about any tunnel, i just know that i don't really like becca putterman. ...most puttermans i've met act like they're too good for anybody. and yea, that's my angst b/c i know i shouldn't feel that way

Actually, the point of the pape is to provide students with a source of nws and to show reality outside of school. Students are so absorbed in work that we do not take time out to sit and watch the almists on television who think Paris Hilton is news. And since the Eagle's Eye can no longer be depended upon to feature controversial issues unrelated to Enloe, The Tunnel fills a gap in what we are offered. Give the founders some credit, guys. It is the first issue and not a bad one at that. I for one plan to submit to and read it at every opportunity because it is not something "They are doing on their own" and they want contributors.
And since when is basic journalistic principle to LABEL something as "opinionated"? that is the biggest load of BS I've heard in a long time.
