I'm depressed all the time and no one notices, not even my friends. How long will it be until no one notices me at all? I try and I try but I'm never good enough to be more than a distant friend to anyone. I need a hug. And some chocolate. I gave up soda for Lent and now I have a headache all the time.

I gave up soda for Lent too.

And yesterday, I had a conversation about needing chocolate.

I don't know if I'm depressed, but right now, I'm not content.

no matter what you think of your relationships with them, don't give up on your friends just yet. push to put the interaction where you want it, you'll feel better about it, not matter how much difference it makes.

Please do not be the depressed friend. It sucks to be the friend of the depressed. Because your friends care about you, I promise. And hug them. Don't wait for them to hug you. But please, for the sake of your friends, don't be depressed.

There are posters about suicide at my school. Apparently, suicide rates are the highest in the United States in the Rocky Mountain Region. Interesting, no?

73% of suicides are males?! That statictic freaked me out too. I'd bet women attempt it more (higher instances of depression in women), but men are hardcore/stupid enough to actually go through with it.

^ Women try it far more than men, but men succeed at far higher rates because they choose methods that will actually work effectively.

More women are said to attempt it for attention than with a hardcore desire to die.

I have a similar problem. You just have to realize that your friends aren't indifferent (or extremely unobservent), they might just be caught up in the moment.

Many people deal with their depression by trying to hide it, even when the thing they want most is human comfort. It may seem wrong to impose, but you must let your friends know what's going on in order to fix it.

Hugs and more hugs

i found out that one of my friends has been cutting herself and i never realized. this makes me feel like i'm the worst friend in the world. however i hope you can realize that it is very difficult for someone to see, realize, and admit to themselves that their friend has a problem, especially when they don't go moping around 24/7.

i'm sorry

like seriously. i'm not just saying that. i really am.

i had just about the exact same problem last year and you know what works best? even if you feel like nothing is ok and everything sucks and you just hate life, pretend to YOURSELF (not just everybody else) that everything is fine. even if you don't feel like laughing, laugh. even if you don't feel like smiling, smile. even if you don't feel like playing a game or going out or relaxing with friends, do it. eventually you will actually be happy again. these things are not just done by happy people because they are happy. these things MAKE you happy. laughing and smiling both release chemicals that make you more content. spending time having fun w/ friends will just make you more confident and happy and will reassure you that they care about you. just get out there and keep living.

trust me. it worked.
