I started training with my coach when i was 11, that was 5 1/2 years ago, since then i've attained a level of competition that he never reached in his prime and i've begun to coach many of his students. He still treats me like i'm 12. It's beginning to taint my love for this sport.

Tainted love, oh-oh! Tainted love.

Eh, I'd say it's important to realize that even though you think your skills are superior to your coach's skills, he has the valuable life experience that can only come with time and age.

^Lame. Old people don't get free respect just for aging without dying, they need to earn it like everybody else.

As far as the op's "the student has now become the master" dilema, I recommend killing him in a lightsaber battle. Let's just hope it doesn't make him stronger than you could ever imagine.
