First of all, quit referring to them as "chicks."
Second of all, start referring to them as "chicks" again promptly afterward. Using it in general isn't a bad thing, but the phrase "pick up chicks" does sound pretty derogatory.
There are many pretty, yet desperate "chicks" out there. Go find one.
Just talk to them, if you're even mildly attractive and confident then it isn't that hard.
If you whip it out, I will slap you across the face.
Actually I like being called a chick. It's hot.
