Dear Self,
Please stop thinking about suicide.
You scare me.
Lots.
With concern,
Me

It's not a big deal, I've been considering it for years now and I've never had the balls to do it.

What's not a big deal for you is a big deal for someone else. The intricacies of the psyche are entirely unique for each person. It also depends on the state of depression. Someone who is very, very depressed will often think that suicide is the only viable solution. Of course, this is never true, but extremely tumultuous emotions often cloud foresight, and the perception of solutions. The reality of it is though, is that suicide is never a real option. It may be a nice little thing to day dream about from time to time, to think about, and to wonder about, but it is not a real answer. If you feel like your own life is worthless, try considering the lives of those around you. Even though you may not know it, there are people all around you who care about you, and so many of them who are simply to timid to say so. Loss can crush the human spirit, and is often the cause for feeling suicidal. If you really start to get serious, think about what it felt like for you, and then imagine inflicting that same pain on all of those around you, everyone that cares about you, and loves you. All of the people that will love you, and that have loved you. Those people, I often find, are what makes life worth living, please, don't give up, even if it's only for their sake. After all of that though, please do remember, that you are an amazing person. You are the closest thing to perfect this world will ever see. You are a shining star, and a jewel, even if you don't know it. You're an amazing person, a special person, and a beloved person. You make life worth living for people. Remember that, please. For all of us.

Suicide is a permanent solution for a temporary problem. In other words, don't do something rash and permanent about a temporary condition (how you feel or what's going on in your life right now), because time changed everything. And by the way, everyone thinks about suicide sometimes. If you are really scared about it, you would probably feel better if you talked with someone about it.

I will pray for you.
