I'm being tutored in Pre Calc. I don't think it will help. I'm embarrassed that now, on top of taking the lowest level math course of all my friends, I'm doing badly enough to merit the hiring of a tutor. Who is seventeen minutes late for our appointment at the moment.

There is nothing to be ashamed of. I am taking Pre Calc as well, which is lower than 99% of my friends. But I don't give a damn. You know why? 'Cause I'm not going into a math career.
Of course, I don't really get PreCalc either, but Letarte's curves manage to keep me afloat, so I'm okay for the time being.
I used to be unable to accept tutoring. This year in Calc AB i usually get tutored every other week, and i have an A in the class. Don't be ashamed, it just means you're brave enough to recognize that you need help. Being able to recognize that you need help, and ask for it will make you a much stronger person. Nobody gets through life alone.
Different people are slow in different areas. I'm so damn lucky we aren't required to take art or dance classes or my GPA would currently be weeping.
I agree with thewordofrashi because I completely refused when my mom suggested that I get a tutor for english class (I got a lot of Ds on essays last year). I got this amazing tutor who not only helps me with english but she helps me with other areas of school, organization, and gives advice for life in general. Now I am one of my teacher's favorite students and I have a solid A in that class. This could be something that you are ashamed of now but think of how glad you will be when you are a confident and successful math student (wow that sounded like some corny adult crap but i guess it is true)
