I was so close to asking her today. I had her alone, there was no one around. I almost did it. But I chickened out again. I get the feeling I'll never be able to say it.

Yeah, just do it, it's really not that hard.
Think of it like skydiving, all you have to do is force that muscle action to jump out of the plane, then you get to have the ride of your life.
You've got to decide to do it, waiting for an opportunity wont work. If you're going to ask her, decide to do it at a certain time, and don't let yourself chicken out.
and even if she turns you down there are so many other wonderful girls out there just waiting to be asked.

haha actually the total analogy is it's like skydiving cause you have to jump out of the plane and then you're falling and it's too late to go back and you have to deal with it from there ;)
nono that's the point skydiving is fun and a rush. You have much more of a chance of dying in your everyday activities than you do from skydiving.
It's true, but I think we have trouble wrapping our minds around how relatively harmless asking someone out can be, so I think the analogy keeps working.
