It is so much easier not to get attached to someone.

It makes saying goodbye that much harder.

Just for clarity, do you mean that it is harder to say goodbye to someone if you are not attached to them?

I think you mean it the other way, but you might have a novel perspective.

No, I meant it the way you thought I meant. It's easier not to get attached to anyone, because that makes it easier to say goodbye.

Clarification-- it's a beautiful thing. (Sorry, my mind is a little dead from so much going through it.)

It's true, of course. But two things in life are true, as I see it. You have to attach to someone, and eventually you'll have to say goodbye to everyone. Unfortunately these two things make pain an unavoidable part of life... but I don't think they should stop anyone from attaching. If you know and love enough people, you can keep the pleasure of company with you always, and maybe ride over the pain of separation.

I have this problem where I become really infatuated with people for a couple months but then I just see that they aren't the person I thought they were and lose interest. But I feel bad saying goodbye.

Oh man, I make attachments to everyone. That's why I hated that 4 hour safe driving course, i got attached to the cool kids sitting around me, and I'll never see them again :(.

I got over that in a matter of hours, but it was sad while it was going on.

I went to camp this summer and got really attached to four or five people there over the course of the 6 weeks I was gone. And now I'll never see THEM again. I'm still sort of sad about that. But as hard as it was to say goodbye, I'm glad that I got to know them.

I get attached to people I've never seen or never talked to. It's nice because when I see them in the halls(Or see them post on Tangst) it makes me happy.

How is it one can get attached to anonymous people?

Or are you just really good at figuring out who is in a situation?

I think they meant people, like the admins on Tangst, who retain an established identity, or one by which they can easily relate to the person.

perhaps, but I know a few people that can actually figure out situations, so I was wondering if it was that.
