I finally had the courage to shave my legs today.

It's kind of stupid, but I'm really proud of myself for it.

My mom didn't want me to, but she doesn't know. Hooray!

Congratulations! Welcome to the addiction that is shaving one's legs...

Good for you. Hairy legs = major turn off for guys.

I just have the weird feeling that it was all started by a razor company. Men decided that shaving beards was attractive and useful, not having hair all over your face to get lice in and stuff. But then they thought, "waiiitttt, what can girls shave...their legs?" And so it was agreed. And they made a campaign, and are now selling more razors.

Just like when they turned dolls which were exclusively for girls into "action figures" sometime in the mid 20th century, just like they're doing now with men's "revitalizing lotions."

hooray for capitalism!

Hm. The more I think about it the more I'm confused about the gender of the op. What mom would disagree with a girl of the appropriate age shaving her legs? (one of those granola, Sierra Club moms certainly)

Then if it's a man....well then we've got a whole -new- set of issues, haven't we?

Er.

I'm a girl. But my Mom has basically told me that I was not to shave my legs until I'm in college.

Oh, I get her reasoning. Hairy legs=no sex. Brilliant! That has /no/ way of failing...

Yay for sticking it to the man (or woman, in this case)!

Now, on to the next challenge; the armpits!

Shaving is actually pretty fun. Especially if you use the shaving cream that smells good.

Yeah when I first read this I thought maybe it was a guy. I really, really am starting to despise the whole idea of "parents" these days.

i think leg-shaving was started by Barbie, who was supposed to be attractive and had plasticy smooth legs. any thoughts?

That's a good idea. I think I'm going to go shave my legs right now!

Congrats.

I shave my legs on a semi-regular basis.

^ Eek. Semi-regular. If, like most guys, you just never shave them, then the hair stays soft and curly. But once you start, you just can't really stop, because the hair that grows back in is spiky and icky.

Or, were you just joking?

DA, please don't tell such bold faced lies.
