Fine, I admit it: I'm jealous of all my friends, who are either in a relationship or perfectly content with not being in one.

I am neither.

Jealousy is an emotion that seems pretty common among high school students.

What I find interesting is that most of us are lealous simply of outward appearances, and the objects of our jealousy are also jealous of us for having what they percieve as a perfect life. Or at least less troubled than theirs.

Wish I could help you further, but I still haven't found a way to overcome this problem (not from lack of trying, rest assured).

Good luck, and here's hoping that you can find someone that will ease your suffering.

I always try to stamp out those little twinges of jealousy when they first crop up. For absolutely no reason I'll start to feel jealous when a great guy friend of mine starts hitting a girl I don't even find remotely attractive, that feeling that I need to rush in and upstage him that has absolutely no basis in reality.

Jealousy has to be one of the most pointless emotions, but think what a huge and sneaky impact it has.

I bet a couple of the friends that seem like they are perfectly content with not being in a relationship feel the same way that you do.
