Aboslutely. To have a real romantic relationship there has to be a physical attraction involved, but you can love someone in every other sense of the word without ever even seeing them. Personally, I've had my most intense emotional relationship with another guy, and I wished plenty of times that he had been a girl instead.
Creepy, what if you met someone who was unequivocally your soul mate but they were another gender?
