I just posted this on that Tangst poseur's website:

The Disclaimers for this site are almost exactly the same as the ones for Tangst. Tangst just has more rules than here.

This plagarism is in violation of Tangst's copyright. I'm surprised that Heather hasn't said anything yet.

Almost all of the language is exactly the same. Syntax, rhetoric, even diction is Heather's.

Learn MLA. Cite your sources. Don't plagarize.

P.S. And don't even pretend that you wrote yours first based on timestamps - I've been going to both sites since their inceptions. Tangst was first.

Obviously Tangst is the best. I can not believe The Watcher had the nerve to pick and choose from the policies Heather put so much thought into modifying from the sites she cited or wrote out originally.

I believe that The Watcher had specific permission from sithgirl to create a website very much like Tangst for the growing Tangster base out West. She gives Tangst and sithgirl credit for the inspiration of The Walls Have Eyes, I don't think anywhere does she try to make it look like Walls came before Tangst.

yea, i agree w/ the above poster. the point of tangst is for high schoolers to help other high schoolers out, and just release some of the stuff that's bugging them. not to create a cool little website for your own amusement. with that perspective, my guess would be that heather is HAPPY this person has created a mini tangst in a different location.

but that's just me. i think heather should just tell us whether she cares or not.

I think Heather is probably delighted with the mini-tangst, but it does seem a valid observation that the other site completely failed to cite its source for the policies.

It's great that someplace like Tangst or The Walls Have Eyes exists, but that's not an excuse for failure to cite an inspiration. In school they call it plagaurism. Here the op called it a "poseur."

I guess all that the op was saying was that the other site wasn't being gracious in its use of content.

I believe I gave The Watcher permission to create a website like Tangst. I don't believe I gave anyone permission to blatantly copy my stuff.

Yes, I've looked at her policies in comparison to mine. The wording is either really close or exactly like mine. I really wish she'd have come up with her own disclaimers, policies, etc. specific to her own site; the copying word for word bothers me. Especially since I read it thinking, "Hey, that's me. But there's someone else's name as author..."

Personally, I'm just miffed that there's no citation on that page. MLA or otherwise. Plagarism is illegal. If you've been paying attention in your English or history classes, you'd know that.

I ♥ MLA

I guess thats our questions answered then. The idea of Tangst spreading is cool and encouraged, just not theft of creativity.

I ♥ Tangst.

It's like RAchenbach says,

"MORE THAN 3 WORDS IN SUCCESSION COPIED IS DEATH! The end."

Also, ellipses are my friends...

Oh yes I use those little buggers alla time.

I think that people should be original, in general.

BTW The Watcher has gone through loads of shit because of that website. Just thought you ought to know.

The op wasn't bashing the website. Just the lack of credit given where it was due.

Just thought you ought to know.

Ah; I am corrected. Did you see that health movie too or are you just bashing me?

Hey guys,

I just wanted to say that I am really sorry about this, and I will get rid of the offending post.

But I did, in fact, ask Heather about creating my little blog.

The idea was that my friends, who had been coming here for help, could have a place of their own.
