I am a doll with
sparkling glass eyes

I am the envy of
girls who pass by

I am beautiful and perfect
in every way

but boys don't play with dolls

I think the imagery is a little cliched...

And some of the lines are too abstract to be evocative (that's the same problem I have with Maverick's poems from time to time).

But I second the fact that boys don't/shouldn't play with dolls?

Miss, though I would have to agree with slightly cliche descriptions, I did enjoy the introspective couplets contrasting a disapointing observation, that may or may not be true.

Cliche, I think, works for this poem. At any rate, I liked it.

It all depends on what kind of doll we're talking about I suppose.

I think that boys don't play with dolls because dolls don't play back. If you want a boy you might want to consider branching out from beyond just a doll.

No matter how your eyes may sparkle, they're still glass. Remember that when you decide about boys and dolls.
