Every reminder that you're a senior is like a punch in the stomach.

You capture the feeling of having a crush on a senior perfectly. They all seem so happy about graduating- and we don't want them to go. Well, if you're good friends with them it's sad too.
But maaaaannnnnn I hate having a HUGE crush on a senior. This sucks.
Unless, of course, you're a senior and you're trying to portray your nervousness about going out into the world- that's understandable.
I had this problem for a little while this year. It's so hard seeing that clock on the wall of your mind, a countdown to the point where they leave you.
Of course, maybe we just need to think about it differently:
High school is only four years, and while it seems tumultuous now, once college rolls around the amount of people in life will grow exponentially. There will always be new people in our lives; not to replace the ones we've lost, but to help us learn that because of the wonderful differences between people the replacement is not necessary. Also, everybody leaves. We connect to people on the shallow basis of mortality, where we know each decision we make is only temporary on a cosmic scale. But that is no reason to stop connecting. It's sad to experience this loss but time marches on.
DO: open yourself up to love, even at the risk for hurt. DO NOT: be afraid.

I think you completly missed the point of this post, Anonymous1. I belive the poster was actually referring to themselves.
...maybe.
It could go either way, I think.
I personally interpreted as them talking to someone that was a senior.
OP, can you clarify?
I have a crush on a senior. I am not a senior. Every time they remind me that they are a senior, I feel this sadness and fear sinking in my stomach.
