Some amazing woman needs to come along and teach me how to dance, because I'll never be able to do it alone.

I totally agree with the original poster. This amazing woman needs patience and talent. Only then can I learn to dance.

If you're talking about waltzing you can take a class.

If you're talking about modern dancing I've discovered it's a matter of feeling comfortable with jumping around like a fool>>see also:booze, see also:X

dancing these days = sex with clothes on. I despise watching people grind. Even as a guy, I refuse to do it.

The world would be so much better without dancing I feel. The only I do it is cause girls like it.

Now if we moved back to the waltz, the foxtrot, etc., and we were all supposed to know them cause we were cultured...well, that'd be cool.

yeah. Old-style dancing > new-style dancing.

Not only dancing but the whole idea of "letting go" is difficult for me. I just keep hoping that somebody will come along and all those idiotic worries will disappear.

Question for women: How much does a guy's ability to dance factor in to the...how do you say...mate selection process?

^not a whole lot. Actually, my boyfriend can dance pretty well, and it kind of embarrasses me sometimes because I can't dance! :) But the point is, it's not your mad dancing skillzors that will win her; it's really mostly in how you treat her.

I don't dance. I can't. It's impossible. Therefore, it wouldn't make a difference to me if a guy could dance or not. *Shrugs*

Oh believe me, girls will say that it doesn't matter, and they'll even say sometimes that it's "cute" that you can't dance.

That cuteness is bonus points, but the penalty poitns for not being able to are worse. Some don't care it's true, but the ones that like to dance generally do.

Of course, that doesn't mean you can't meet them and have a relationship, it just becomes harder as you can't impress them at that dance when it would be so easy to if you could dance.

you guys are analyzing this too much.

seriously, most girls dont think THAT much about whether you can dance or not. most guys i know, and all that i have dated, can't dance a lick. but it doesnt matter. it makes me so happy when they try, even if they suck. and even when they dont try but just watch me, i love having them watch me dancing. maybe i'm crazy.

reminds me of that song called The Rose....damn, it's been a long time since I've heard that one...

A guy that can dance may be awesome.
I guy that can't dance may still be awesome.
The end.

the poster above shares my opinion for the most part. grinding is distasteful in my eyes, but moshing on the other hand, thats fun. In moshing every one has equal skill and respect, it is quite the gentleman's dance

The newspaper staff isn't finished learning how to waltz.

Yes grinding can be fun but doing the foxtrot or something can be sooooo much more fun with a guy you like on more than a sexual level.
