I thought I was free - take it once, at the end of my sophomore year, and be rid of it!
But no, my scores aren't good enough. They've told me I'll be taking the SAT again. (And maybe even again and again and again until I hit 2400.)
2180. What's wrong with that?
(I think it's good enough.)

Quite frankly, since the writing portion is new this year and they have no precedent, it really depends on your reading/math score out of 1600... sorta like the old scale.
Anyhow, 2180 is quite strong, and anything above 1300 or even 1250 on the reading/math will get you into virtually any college.
As long as your grades aren't bad, along with it.
Who's they? If it's your parents.... well, yeah, parents are a huge pain... but there isn't necessarily something you can do about it :-/
whatever its annoying but not really much more than an inconvience.
SAT scores don't say shit about how smart a person is. It does say how good you are at a very specific type of math problems ( I got a 750 on the math SAT, but I'm struggling for a C in Calculus), and how much you read/how big your volcabulary is. OP, your score is great, its too bad your parents feel like that's not good enough. However, most people's scores do improve the second time, and if you're applying to a really prestigous college, having an extra 100 or so points from a second testing could give you the edge you need to get in.
i think we've already discussed the topic of SATs as much as it can be discussed.
you know. last month when we got our scores.
it's not, ur stupid, just take it again
sheesh, all this SAT angst, honestly it's just a freaking test, it's really not that big of a deal to take it again, i mean try and argue it with ur parents, but it's not gonna get u anywhere
i had to take the SAT another time after i got the score i wanted, and arguing about it/complaining about it put me in the wrong mindset so i ended up getting a lower score
sorry to have sounded mean up there, but u should just face the test, and look at it not as like "ugh pointless, why am i taking it again"
the SAT says im stupid
psh you know you just posted this to brag about your score.
^I think your right. What parent would complain about a 2180? Maybe I'm just lucky cause my parents think what I got was good and I got about 150 points lower than you. Still want to improve my math and essay though. reading can stay the same, it was high enough for me.
