Even though it happens rarely, and I'm no longer five, it still scares the shit out of me when my dad has a meltdown. He ends up doing things like calling my mom a "stupid bitch".

Post anything that you want - a story, a secret, a confession, a fear, a love - anything. Post twice if you'd like. And then share the site with your friends.

I think I know you, and I just want to tell you not to fear.
Even though sometimes he may not act like it, he loves you all the same.
And there are plenty of others out there who love you too. Never feel unprotected, there is always somewhere to run.
Oh I know, and it's not as bad as other families. I mean, he doesn't hit anyone or anything. It just makes me feel like a five year old again.
Just always remember that you are loved, and don't be afraid to open up to others. Having someone to talk to can help you deal with problems.
And I definitely understand where your feelings are coming from. I still feel defenseless when my parents fight. I think that it is natural, maybe.
"Let me tell you a secret, about a father's love,
A secret that my daddy said was just between us.
Daddies don't just love their children every now and then.
It's a love without end, Amen."
I love that song.
And, I don't exactly know what you're going through, but I do sympathize.
I feel for you. One of my best friends went to Wrenn House (home for abused/neglected children) for a few weeks in November, because her dad beat her. It was the first time since she was about seven, but she had to run away to a friend's house.
So... I have empathy for you, stranger. I hope you can find some harmony in your home-- not that things will be solved, but that they can be tolerable. And you seem like a really positive person in the midst of whatever troubles you're having. Kudos on that, the world would be a lot better if more people had that sort of outlook on life.
