In the past day, I have told serious, boldfaced lies to two teachers and one friend. I hate who I've become.

Sometimes Machiavelli's "ends justify the means" must come into play. However my cognitive dissonance conflicts with coming to terms with this. Please dont insult me by assuming that my situation is so simple that I can stop "the means". Do you tell an alcoholic to just stop drinking and expect them to stop?
I agree and sympathize with the 1st/3rd commentor.
I find myself in the same situation sometimes. It sucks. It helps to put effort into stopping, but I know you can't just cold turkey. It doesn't work.
Make an effort to conteract it though, that will make all the difference in the world. You'll even feel better about yourself, perhaps. Or maybe just come to a catharsis with life.
*Correction: I don't expect you to stop lying.
I wouldn't make such broad, sweeping and rhetorically charged generalizations about alcoholics. It makes your argument sound dumb. Be less specific next time, just a friendly hint.
Actually, I do believe that hypocrisy is a disease and I will tell you to just open your eyes. I don't expect you to be perfect, but does another human having a superiority complex make him any of a less disgusting person for not only casting the first stone, but making blatant generalizations? No, nor does your arguement produce evidence even close to fortify a shadow of some shortsighted idea of yours.
(Naturally with all due respect).
^Such a tirade is no serious boldface lie of mine, and most certainly not another petty excuse to justify a tragic flaw.
hahaha SNAP!
