You know, the other day I was flipping throgh this catalogue and I saw this really cute clarinet jacket.
I mean, I don't know who you are or anything, but would your boyfriend like a clarinet jacket? That's what I'd get my boyfriend. A clarinet jacket.
Get him one of these these or maybe this.
Mixtapes or burned CDs with "your" songs or his favorites might be nice.
Or you could just bake him brownies. Guys tend to like food.
If you have a photo of him and you together, that in a nice frame could be a good present.

the question i want to know is what do you get your best friend who is a guy for christmas. the only thing i can think of is food.

A picture? Well I mean, we like the whole thought behind that, but perhaps a package. In the box have a couple brownies, two burned cds that you love a lot, and that picture of you.
That way you cover all your bases, you have the lovey aesthetic, the stomach appeal, AND the useful item that lasts for a while.
If you wanted to invest money, dvds and video games are generally really good ideas.
